Suraj Kund Park Travel Guide

The main landmark of Suraj Kund is the Suraj Kund Park and the huge tank. The park is surrounded by several temples and it is said to have been built during the time when Shahjahan reigned. It is also said that out of the total 5 ponds in India, the one at Suraj Kund is said to be the biggest. The pond was naturally filled with the sacred water, but with time the pond has dried up. A fair is organized each year on the auspicious occasion of Dusshera. Huge gathering can be seen here when the effigy of Ravana is burnt on the Dusshera festival celebrating the victory of good over evil.
